As you followed along with the new teacher in a different environment and the students who were thirsty for knowledge, it captivated you. This sparked many other movies like it that tried to mirror the storyline as it was such a good one.

3. Freedom Writers: This was the story about a teacher that cares and it was a very interesting tale indeed. This had good actors, a great story line, a classic struggle, and of course it was well played out. Somehow it was a bit underrated as these movies go but it was still great to watch.

4. Mr. Holland’s Opus: This was a great movie about the teachings within a music program. The music was great, the acting was superb, and the story was really interesting as you saw how a teacher of the arts struggled to keep his classroom afloat.

5. Lean on Me: The classic story of kids and the struggle that they faced. The teaching was a big part of this storyline and it really made people think about how the relationship between kids and between teacher and student really is. It was a heartwarming story and that doesn’t really show through in many in this genre quite like this did.

6. Good Will Hunting: You couldn’t believe the tale of the outcast who had intelligence beyond his years. He was amazing to watch but yet you kept wanting him to come out of his funk for the way he acted in everyday life. He seemed to come alive in the classroom and the story unfolded in a surprisingly wonderful way.

7. Music of the Heart: Another wonderful movie about teaching music in a rather unconventional environment. This time Meryl Streep really wowed in this role that you didn’t necessarily expect her to be in. It had great music and an excellent story and lesson to follow along with it.

8. Fast Times at Ridgemont High: Admittedly this was not an educational movie nor was it full of great substance. However this had some great humor, some classic lines, and of course interesting characters to follow along with. This will likely always be remembered and for the irony and humor that it brought.

9. School of Rock: This touching tale of Jack Black trying to teach his students about the one thing he was passionate about—music. It was an unlikely pairing and yet the kids and Black did a phenomenal job in this movie. It’s a classic and great to watch with the whole family.

10. Stand and Deliver: This movie was a true story about the man who may have been the greatest teacher ever. You watched the story of his life unfold on the screen before you and were amazed at what he accomplished and how he managed it.

These stories are all a bit different but feature teaching at their core. They are full of great plots, wonderful characters, and make for memorable movies overall.
